 “Let’s Move Child Care” EMPODERA a proveedores/as de cuidado de niños a que hagan cambios positivos para la salud en los niños desde el principio, que va a durar toda la vida. “Let’s Move Child Care” se alinea con el programa Empower del Departamento de Salud de Arizona y el Departamento de Salud de Arizona orgullosamente apoya esta gran iniciativa. “Let’s Move Child Care” brinda el apoyo que proveedores/as necesitan proporcionando herramientas y recursos para una alimentación saludable y una vida activa en centros y hogares de cuidado de niños. ¡Visite el sitio para aprender más y convertirse en un campeón de opciones saludables al unirse a “Let’s Move Child Care” para información y recursos gratuitos.

Proveedores y personal de la Educación y Cuidado a la Temprana Edad (ECE) están en una posición especial para empoder a los niños pequeños para que aprendan hábitos que los mantengan sanos por vida.  El Departmento de Salud de Arizona (ADHS) desarolló el Program Empower en el 2010 como un programa voluntario para apoyar los esfuerzos de instalaciones u hogares con licencia o certificados para empoderar a los niños pequeños a que crezcan saludables.

El Programa Empower es una oportunidad para que proveedores de cuidado de niños promuevan la salud, nutrición y el bienestar durante todo el dia.  El programa empodera a los niños para que tomen buenas decisiones sobre nutrición, actividad física, protección contra el sol, salud oral, y tabaco, usando estánderes y actividades apropiadas para la edad.  Además de reducir el precio de la licencia, instalaciones de cuidado de niños participando en el programa o centros de Empower, reciben un Empower Pack. Las directrices y herramientas incluidas en este Empower Pack pueden ser fácilmente incorporadas en la rutina diaria de cuidado de niños para inculcar elecciones de una vida saludable.  La versión mas reciente del Empower Guidebook (tercer edición) y el sitio web actualizado también incluye información sobre:
  • Niños con Necesidades Especiales de Salud y Discapacidades
  • Grupos de Diferentes Edades
  • Entornos basados en Hogar o Centro
  • Consideraciones de Lenguaje y Cultura
  • Participación de la Familia

Proveedores de Cuidado de Niños participando reciben:
  1. Precios reducidos de licencia
  2. Una designación como centro de Empower otorgado por el estado
  3. Un Empower Pack
Para más información acerca de la registración para Empower Pack, llame a la Oficina de Licencias para el Cuidado de Niños al 602-364-2539 de lunes a viernes de 8 a.m a 5 p.m.  En los fines de semana y en las tardes, llame al 602-364-3934 para dejar un mensaje; su llamada será regresada durante las horas de oficina.
